Ever since I was a kid, there were two things I wanted to be – a fashion designer and a psychologist. This was mainly because I was passionate about fashion and people and colours intrigue me. Little did I know that fashion and psychology share a common link.
When I finished school, I got a job that allowed me to represent my company at an international trade fair showcasing the company’s clothing range. This exposure left an imprint on me. But due to changes in life, this desire got put on the back burner.
A few years ago, I revived that desire and decided to pursue something concrete in fashion. By then I was already working in the fashion industry and saw firsthand the struggle people go through just to put an outfit together for everyday wear and the odd special occasion.
I decided to investigate how I could be of more help and came across the Australian College of Professional Styling and The Professional Photo, Film, TV & Personal Styling Course. The course aligned with the direction I wanted to go in to pursue my dreams. The staff helped me enrol and I got started straight away.
The knowledge and skills I gained from the course has enhanced my standing in the fashion industry. The amount of industry information poured into this course, in a creative way, made it exciting to complete.
Now I find myself doing what I love and getting paid for it at the same time. My typical day involves styling a variety of different clients from all different backgrounds. This has brought me a lot of joy and I look forward to going to work every day. The joy of putting a smile on a person’s face and helping them to see themselves differently, with the use of clothes, is priceless.
This is a course I will recommend to anybody. From the detailed range of topics covered, to insiders’ tips on how to keep up with current trends, to the support of College staff – this course provides everything you need to start immediately as a stylist, step by step. The flexibility of study also makes it accessible for anybody who has an interest in advancing in the fashion industry. Styling has so much more to offer.
Just like me, it will be rewarding for you if you can give it your absolute best!
