“The assignments guidelines inspired you to let your creativity run wild while learning new skills at the same time.” – Gloria Mircea

I was blown away by the help I received from the staff. From answering questions before I commenced my studies, to guiding me through the course, they were always very encouraging and offered a lot of support.

I have always loved and been inspired by fashion. Ever since I was little, I remember watching fashion shows on TV with my mother and seeing her excitedly flick through the latest fashion magazines.

For a long time I have wanted to be part of the fashion industry and I finally took the leap and found the Australian College of Professional Styling. I was looking for a career change and wanted to study something I really loved.

I was blown away by the help I received from the staff. From answering questions before I commenced my studies, to guiding me through the course, they were always very encouraging and offered a lot of support.

The flexibility of the course timeframe is excellent if you are working and require more time to finish studying. I also really enjoyed the course material. I was always looking forward to reading it, finding out what the assignments were and would be curious to know what the next week’s topic would be. The assignments guidelines inspired you to let your creativity run wild while learning new skills at the same time. I loved learning about the history of fashion and all the different areas of styling.

The course also provided useful advice about the industry and how to handle working as a stylist with stories from working professionals regarding their path into the fashion industry.

Since completing the course, I have found a network (www.starnow.com) where I can work on projects with other professionals looking to build their portfolio. If you are new to styling, I would encourage all budding stylists to look online for networking sites specifically made for those new to fashion, photography or modelling and looking to network, build a portfolio and work on great projects.

It can be daunting at first but you have to believe in yourself and your talent as a stylist. Everyone has to start somewhere and these networking sites are all about trying to help each other get experience.

I am looking forward to continue to build my portfolio and I hope to be able to work for a fashion magazine in the future.  For those starting on this journey into the wonderful world of fashion, I wish you all the best and never doubt yourself!
